Even getting a part-time job often doesn’t cut it and many students can’t balance a full-time job and academic demands. For individuals who need monetary help to attend college, there is Federal aid that comes in two forms: self-help and gift. The first allows you to borrow money through loans or work for the money through the work-study program. The latter is just what the name implies: a gift. And gifts don’t have to be repaid.

Fortunately, the US Federal government is not the only organization that realizes the need for educated citizens and the difficulties some citizens have in getting educated. Many other organizations offer aid as well. This aid comes in the form of a college education grant.
The great thing about a college education grant, like the majority of grants and unlike student loans, is that you don’t have to return the money. A college education grant is based mainly on need (though there are some that are merit-based as well), and it is highly competitive. These grants won’t necessarily cover all costs of an education, but they can be a big help. Grants of this nature can be donated by the federal or state government, non-profit organizations, academic institutions, research institutions, funding institutions, corporations, or private individuals.

The college-bound should start researching college education grant opportunities early, say junior year of high school, and also start saving up money for the costs that the grant will not cover, such as textbooks. A FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) form should be filled out by anyone who wishes to attend post-secondary education because the information on this form is forwarded by the department of education to the state assistance agency in the state where a student applies. Often, a student can be eligible for more than one grant and some scholarships. Many grants are donated on a first-come first-served basis, so it’s best to get applications in early.

Two of the most popular and well-known need-based grants are the Federal Pell grant and the Federal Educational Supplemental Opportunity grant.

* The first is a college education grant often used as a starting point on top of which students add other grants or scholarships. This grant is for undergraduate students only, and is often further limited to students who do not already have a bachelor’s degree (though there are some exceptions), and money given ranges from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. The donation of the grant is based on need, cost of attendance and whether a candidate is a full-time or part-time student.

* The second college education grant involves money given to students who are especially in need. Both the Federal Pell grant and this grant can be given to the same student, though the money donated through this grant is reduced if a student is receiving other types of aid.

There are a variety of other types of grants donated by a variety of organizations which come with more restrictions than the above mentioned grants. Conditional grants, for example, may entail a student undertaking a particular course of study or maintaining a particular grade point average to be eligible. Some grants given by universities or local organizations have residency requirements as well.

To find out specific information about specific college education grants, there are a number of sources to which an aspiring university student may turn. A local library or a high school counselor’s office is an excellent place to start. On the web, an internet search with the words “college” and “grants” could be useful, while there are some tried and true sites such as finaid.org, collegeanswer.com, and the Michigan State Library website that are excellent sources for college education grant information.

Free Money: The College Education Grant is a post from: Online Education Guide

Help for Single Parents through the Single Parents Education Grant

Grant

Whether you are a young mother who wishes not to give up her dream of becoming a nurse or a recently widowed father who wishes to balance going back to school for your master’s and taking care of a household, there is aid out there for you in the single parents education grant. Also, a single parents education grant can be used by institutions to implement programs to aid single parents; they can be geared towards helping single mothers get their GED to be able to go onto college or allowing a single mother or father to become further specialized by getting a bachelor’s or a master’s.

A single parents education grant need not be paid back, but the individual or institution seeking grant money must demonstrate why the money is needed and how the money will be put towards an the goal of helping single parents. For individuals seeking money for their own studies, oftentimes merely sending personal information is enough, though many more specific grants will require some kind of written statement explaining the need for the money. Often, individuals must meet residency, financial and academic requirements to be eligible for a single parents education grant and, at times, certain programs of study must be undertaken to be eligible for grant money.

In the case of institutions seeking grant money, the process is a bit more complex, involving a number of forms to be filled out and a proposal to be written. Proposals must give some background information, the purpose of the grant, the need for the grant, where the grant will be used and for whom (the target population), the strategies to implement the grant, the personnel employed, methods for evaluating the success of the project, and a budget. Depending on the specific project, then, there may be other, more particular, requirements.

Grants of this nature can be donated by the federal or state government, non-profit organizations, academic institutions, research institutions, funding institutions, corporations, or private individuals. Grants.gov is an excellent place to start the search, which is a site listing all Federal grants available ($400 billion are available) as is Ed.gov, the home page of the US Department of Education. Internet searches are helpful, and sites such as finaid.org, collegeanswer.com, and the Michigan State Library website are excellent sources for single parents education grant information.

One of the best ways to research grant opportunities is to visit your regional foundation library, located at most major universities. Your local library will also have books listing grant opportunities, and you can consult with the librarian if you have any questions. These kinds of books will also be available either at your high school counselor’s office or your university’s financial aid office. You can purchase these books at book stores.

Help for Single Parents through the Single Parents Education Grant is a post from: Online Education Guide

Federal Student Loans

Grant

College is pricey, and when money is tight, or just not there, some look to take out loans to cover the balance of tuition and living expenses. This is where many get confused, and some get into trouble. There are several loans out there, but they are not all created equal. Even some that are meant for student loans can be problematic. When searching, you want to be sure you’re signing up for federal student loans and that you are avoiding private lenders.

Federal student loans are backed by the government, and there are laws and regulations that are supposed to be in place to protect the student and the organization issuing the loan. Recently, new laws have been passed to keep and even tighter rein on these types of loans. If you go with something other than federal student loans, you’ve very little protection, and your interest rate can grow beyond anything you could have imagined. It’s ideal to protect yourself from this. When the economy takes a turn for the worse, interest rates can skyrocket and the amount you’ve to repay will go up as well. It might get so far out of hand that you have no hope of paying on time.

When you want to find out about federal student loans, you can speak to your college’s financial aid department. They’ll have all of the information you might need, and they might also already have all of the forms that you need. They have the ability to give you the applications for federal student loans, and they can even help you fill things out when you become confused. With any type of loan application, confusion is bound to come up once in a while, so be ready for it. Having help from people who know all about the forms is a great begin.

When you leave college, you will have some grace periods before you have to start paying back your federal student loans. Some give six months after graduation before repayment is expected to start, though you don’t have to wait if you don’t want to. You can start to repay right away if you want to do so. There are also times when you might also be able to defer payments at times when money might be tight, but remember that even though your payments may be on hold for a tiny while, you’ll still be generating interest on the loans that you will have to pay back in the end.

Federal Student Loans is a post from: Online Education Guide

International Student Loans

Grant

Student loans are always more difficult to get the further afield you decide to go. If you live in the say, it is simple to get student loans. Not only are state schools cheaper, but most says are eager to encourage their residents to remain in say, and will give tuition deferred loans to many students. Out of state, things are a little bit difficult but still possible. With international student loans, however, it is a different game altogether. Finding an international student loan can be nightmarish. Whether you’re an American going to a university abroad, or someone abroad coming over here, getting a loan for international students is so pricey that it is often not worth it. Unless you use the right strategies, you might not be able to afford to pay it off.

As a matter of fact, the ideal way to get international student loans is to begin off in a school in your own country and then do an exchange program abroad. This way, even though you’re an international student, you aren’t technically one according to the terms of the student loan international. You see, you are still enrolled in your local college, and you can get loans as a student there. You can use these loans to cover international tuition, but still pay them off at lower rates as if they were domestic student loans.

Of course, you can play this exchange program to your advantage in the pursuit of international student loans. Sometimes, colleges will even give loans to students to go abroad to other schools. A lot of colleges believe that exposure to other cultures is helpful in your education. They’ll do all that they have the ability to to make this easier for you.

If you go and gets international student loans to go abroad without doing it through an exchange program, however, things will be much tougher for you. A lot of the time, the only people who will give you loans are private lenders. These private lenders charge much higher tuition than the government and nonprofit organizations do. It will be all right provided you are able to find a good job right away, and to keep it until your loans are paid off. Otherwise, however, international student loans can cause a lot of trouble in the long run. Paying off high interest loans is no picnic, and nothing that you want to have to do in your 20s.

International Student Loans is a post from: Online Education Guide

When Do You Need A US Grant Consultant

Grant

Application Process

Beneficiary

Feasibility

Federal Grants

Find Grant

Finding Grant

Govbenefits Gov

Grant Federal

Local Government Office

Minimal Fees

Nitty

Plausibility

Private Firm

Probability

Profit Organizations

Proliferation

Tough Job

With the proliferation of information about federal grants, a potential beneficiary will have to screen options diligently. Grants may be available but knowing which one to pursue and how to go about the application is quite a tough job.

If resources are misdirected or if one does not know which grant is appropriate for whom, having a grant consultant is a big help. A consultant will initially evaluate an applicant’s eligibility. He will then try to match it to the requirements of a grant that is suitable.

What Can A Grant Consultant Do?

A grant consultant, after looking through an applicant’s eligibility and finding a prospective grant, will initiate the application process. It is an integral part of their job to appraise and weigh the qualifications, feasibility, and plausibility of a candidate. After assuring that the applicant is eligible and competent, the grant consultant is the one who will go through the nitty gritty of assessing the probability of approval for the applicant.

Where Can I find A Grant Consultant?

There are some grant consultants that are provided by the government. They work directly with the grant-issuing federal agencies. These consultants have direct knowledge of the available grants and work primarily to find and assist capable aspirants. A good source, aside from your local government office, are websites like grant.gov and govbenefits.gov.

Other consultants, on the other hand, work for a private firm. They accept applicants who need their assistance in learning how the entire granting process works.
These are basically divided into two types, those who work for non-profit and those who work for profit organizations.

How Much Does It Cost?

Grant consultants who come from the government and non-profit organizations usually charge minimal fees. The bulk of the expenses will be used up by the application process like documentation and filing. These kinds of consultants commonly work with several applicants at the same time.

On the other hand, consultants coming from profit firms charge a higher commission. They are as adept and knowledgeable as their government counterparts, however, they provide a closer supervision and undivided time. They usually work on a one client one consultant basis.

Most first time applicants need a grant consultant to point them in the right direction and to guide them through the difficult application process. They aid in ensuring that the correct grant is within reach, eligibility conditions are met, and assist in documentation requirements.

Though they generally add to the cost of acquiring a federal grant, they are beneficial in the long term. The expertise and support they are capable of providing is an invaluable resource.

When Do You Need A US Grant Consultant is a post from: Online Education Guide

Have The Government Fund Your Invention

Grant

100 Million

Backups

Business Owner

Business World

Dogmas

Family Relatives

Financial Alternatives

Financial Help

Financial Institutions

Financial Risk

Financial Sources

Financial Stability

Government Fund

Government Grants

Government Invention

Invention

New Business Idea

Old Adage

Pharmaceutical Product

Product Expansion

Small Business Success

Statistical Reports

Do you believe in the saying, “You reap what you sow?” This old adage may mean nothing to other people but it is definitely one of the best dogmas any business owner could ever have. You need to invest money on securing licenses. You need money to establish your business, from the planning down to the last details. And even if your business is already established in the market, still, you will need money to invest in your new product or in developing a new technology.

In fact, in the United States alone, statistical reports show that most businesses spend more than $100 million just to build up and introduce a new “consumer product” or more than $200 million to embark on and launch a new “pharmaceutical product.”

Now you know why businesses revolve on money. There can be no other tool that is as important as money in the business world.

Hence, if you do not have all these money to start and develop your business, you can never see your business grow. The saddest part is that you can never achieve financial stability.

So if you are having some problems in funding your new business idea or product expansion concept, it is best to find good financial sources.

Generally, most business owners will run to their family, relatives, or friends to get financial backups or investments. Others would turn to financial institutions such as banks or lending companies.

As much as these things can help you fund your new project, these sources are inadequate, or they can charge you with higher interest rates, which, in turn, will put your business on a financial risk if neglected.

For this reason, additional financial help is necessary. Why don’t you try having the government fund your invention? Government grants are one of the most common and efficient financial alternatives you can get. Even if it requires a lot of documents or paper works, the support you will obtain is still beneficial on your part.

Why the Government?

The government is willing to support those businesses that continuously evolve into a more progressive industry by developing and entertaining new industrial and technological concepts. The government seeks to help those businesses that, in spite of the limited resources, can still develop innovations and launch them in the market without hesitation.

By doing so, the government believes that ideas like these can, likewise, help them develop and expand the country’s economy. That is why the government is willing to help those kinds of businesses.

In the United States, the government devotes approximately $70 billion yearly in subsidizing development and research projects. Both the state and federal government are very dedicated to promote and cultivate inventive projects in the country.

For this reason, the U.S. government had created various assistance and programs to finance the growth of “new technologies.”

Among the many government programs, the Small Business Innovation Research or the SBIR is one of the most commonly employed services because it mainly focuses on the small businesses.

Through the government’s Small Business Innovation Research Program, small businesses are encouraged to delve into their technological capabilities.

With this program, the government supplies the enticement to small businesses in order to make money on their moneymaking schemes. In doing so, competent small businesses become part of the country’s research and development (R&D) field. Thus, state-of-the-art improvement or invention is motivated.

The government, likewise, benefits from these innovations as it gains industrial and consumerist atmosphere. This happens when the government is able to reach its particular development and research requirements.

Through this program, the government grants financial support as much as $1 billion in a year to small business in the country.

Although the SBIR is a general funding program of the government, each department in the U.S. government has their own SBIR program. The allocated amount may also vary depending on the allotted budget of the funding agency.

For example, the Department of Defense has a specific Small Business Innovation Research Program specifically dedicated to small businesses that have R&D projects. If you do not you will kick yourself down the road. And for all of you straight A students out there, who have outstanding scholarships at your fingertips, take them and run. This is your chance to acquire a higher education without the burden of student loan payback. Something we all wish we could get rid of when college life is over with. As for the rest of us, we quickly discover just how expensive college is. We research financial aid college funding and grants that appear within our grasp. Anything that will get us through the next four years of academic overload.

I was one of the masses. What I would have given to have someone fund my entire college experience. And I really did not even spend that much over the standard four year stretch. I avoided unnecessary material things and expensive dining. I even used my student ID for discounts whenever possible. Needless to state, I had to find financial aid college loans to make University life happen. I went with the Stafford loan, subsidized and unsubsidized. On top of that, I was able to reach a state federal allow. This helped me a great deal. The allow alone paid for a fourth of my education. That is basically an entire year. If you are able to attain federal or state allows, I highly advocate you do so. This is the ideal financial aid college money simply because you do not have to pay any of it back later.

Many new students fail to do the research. Instead they make assumptions about financial aid college funding and grants that other students acquire. They assume the other students are receiving such benefits because they’ve a child or their grades are phenomenal. This may be the case at times, but not always. Some allows are achieved by writing essays or expressing effort in other ways. The best thing to do is scour the web for all federal and state grants pertaining to college education. See which ones apply to you and do your ideal to attain them. Once you graduate, you will be glad you did.

Financial Aid For College is a post from: Online Education Guide

Student Credit Cards

Grant

There are many things you should speak to your kids about before they go to college. Most of these things should be discussed long before that, but some wait. Things like sex, personal safety, and drugs are often discussed, and should be at the forefront of concern, of course, but there are some other things that might make a big difference in your child’s life. One concern is finances, and in particular, student credit cards. Some parents don’t even think about these, but they really should for many reasons.

For some reason, student credit cards are pushed on college kids quite often. They might run into these at many events, and often they’re offered a free gift for signing up. They’re rather easy to get, and many students end up with them. Student credit cards aren’t necessarily a bad thing, but they could spell trouble for the student that’s not prepared for the responsibility of having money to spend that they’ve yet to earn. This is why it is a must to talk with your kids about them before they go.

The first steps towards financial independence can happen in high school when children get their first jobs. These are great because they teach them about money and savings, and how to manage spending. This might also prepare them for student credit cards because this will not be the first time they have to manage funds. A child that has not had a job yet, or earned money in any way, is going to be more prone to abuse student credit cards. This is simply due to a lack of experience more than anything else. They also don’t realize the long term impact something like this could have on their life.

If you want to speak about student credit cards with your child, remember that they are probably going to get them whether you care about it or not. I remember being issued one in college when I had no source of income what-so-ever. They’re very easy to get, as companies hope to find customers that’ll stick with them far beyond college. Let your child know the dangers of abusing student credit cards, and the important information they need to know about getting and keeping good credit. You can’t control what they do, but speaking with them about credit cards can make a difference in their choices down the road when you’re not there to help them.

Student Credit Cards is a post from: Online Education Guide

Going Above and Beyond: The Higher Education Grant

Grant

Again, these are grants for individuals or institutions. However, a higher education grant includes higher levels of the academic world than simple education grants. Individuals pursuing a master’s, doctorate, or professional program are eligible, as are institutes which promote very special projects, such as teacher preparation for use of technology in the classroom or implementation of advanced computer technology programs.

These grants need not be paid back, but the individual or institution seeking higher education grant money must demonstrate why the money is needed and how the money will be put towards a higher education-oriented goal. For individuals seeking a higher education grant for post-secondary studies, oftentimes merely sending personal information is enough, though many more specific grants will require some kind of written statement explaining the need for the money. Often, individuals must meet residency, financial and academic requirements to be eligible for a higher education grant and, at times, certain programs of study must be undertaken to be eligible for grant money.

For example, if you had to use animals, say for a higher education project involving research, you would have to include where the animals would be housed, and you would have to consult the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) to demonstrate knowledge of guidelines concerning the humane treatment of animals.

Internet searches are helpful, and sites such as finaid.org, collegeanswer.com, and the Michigan State Library website are excellent sources for higher education grant information.

Going Above and Beyond: The Higher Education Grant is a post from: Online Education Guide

Promoting the Arts through the Art Education Grant

Grant

There has been much debate over the value of artistic education in schools. Those students who excel in art are motivated to stay in school and search for a productive career if art is shown to be important; indeed, demeaning the value of art and stifling a child’s creativity can be detrimental to a child’s future. Moreover, even those students who are not particularly gifted in art benefit from an art education. An education program that includes art helps develop problem solving and analytic skills, creative thinking and teamwork. It allows students to be more well-rounded individuals, able to observe situations from different perspectives.

Art education grants allow schools to implement programs to this end. They also allow students to finance an education in the arts. Just as there are many forms of artistic education, so there are many forms of an art education grant. Photography is a major form of art and many education grants exist to further the teaching and studying of photography.

These grants need not be paid back, but the individual or institution seeking grant money must demonstrate why the money is needed and how the money will be put towards the goals of an art education grant. Photography, in this case, must be an integral part of the intended program. For individuals seeking money for post-secondary studies, oftentimes merely sending personal information is enough, though many more specific grants will require some kind of written statement explaining the need for the money. Often, individuals must meet residency, financial and academic requirements to be eligible for an education grant and, at times, certain specific programs of study must be undertaken to be eligible for grant money.

In the case of institutions seeking grant money, the process is a bit more complex, involving a number of forms to be filled out and a proposal to be written in order to request an art education grant.
